The conflict for lipoedema surgery: ‘I’m in consistent pain’


Lipoedema is a unpleasant and debilitating health condition that causes aberrant flourishing and fat deposits on women’s legs and arms.

Little is famous about it, and it’s mostly misdiagnosed as obesity.

Doctors contend a liposuction diagnosis indispensable is being poorly classed as cosmetic surgery, so is frequency saved by a NHS.

The BBC’s Alexandra Mackenzie spoke to dual women about their practice – Kate, who has had surgery, and Anne, who is one of a few women on an NHS watchful list.
